This toning astringent helps combat alkaline residue that can be left behind by commercial soaps and cleansers, restoring the natural balance of the skin's pH. It is great for most skin types and can be used after cleansing the face for a deeper clean, combating acne while also softening the skin. This toner has a slight vinegar scent that dissipates quickly after use. It also doubles as a full body product; use it as a hair rinse to remove product buildup and enhance shine or apply to trouble spots on your body post-shower or post-workout.

This toner is ideal for normal-to-oily or combination skin. Avoid use on sensitive, very dry, windburned, or sunburned skin.

When diluted with distilled water, raw apple cider vinegar makes for a wonderful gentle, nonabrasive, exfoliating astringent for all skin types (except for very dry skin). It also balances the natural pH of the skin, which is important to fight of dryness and infection. When used as a hair rinse it works to restore the skin's natural pH balance and can relieve itchy, scaly skin. Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid, which is considered an alpha-hydroxy acid. Some studies indicate that malic acid may help increase collagen production and reverse sun-induced signs of aging in the skin. Alpha-hydroxy acids are known to increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight, so this toner should be followed by sunscreen if used during the day.

Witch hazel acts as a gentle astringent and is beneficial for oil-to-normal and combination skin.

Lavender oil makes a wonderful addition to this toner since it is beneficial for banishing blemishes due to its astringent and antiseptic properties. It also aids in masking the smell of the apple cider vinegar. Tea tree oil has powerful antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, giving even more acne-fighting power to this natural toner.
